Maaike is an inspiring, dedicated and experienced teacher for voice, songwriting, improvisation, band coaching and piano/voice. Before receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degree in singing, she studied for 3 years at the Education In Music Department at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Currently, Maaike is at teacher in piano/voice song accompaniment at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. She also teachers workshops around the globe (a.o. Bratislava Jazz Summer School).
Den Dunnen has performed with the ‘European Jazz Orchestra 2009’ (EU), ‘European Jazz Academy’ (DE), the ‘Frits Bayens Big Band’ and ‘RTV Big Band’ (Slovenian Radio Big Band). Her original music has been arranged for big band by Ed Partyka and Frits Bayens. Her songs have been performed by a.o. the Frankfurt Radio Big Band and the Royal Conservatory Big Band.
